Sunrise and Sunset photos

Sunrise and sunset are two of the most magical hours to take photographs.

Both the below photo's were taken at Surrey Quays Dock in London at sunset. The first photo illustrates how you can create a sihouette as your focal point (main attraction or thing your eye is drawn to first). By taking the picture with the sun in front instead of behind it has darkened all other objects in the picture leaving only their sihouettes which can make for an interesting picture. The second photo takes a different approach and although it also has the sun in front, macro has been used to focus on the railing of the bridge and blur the background. These are both shots of the same sunset and yet they create different moods.

At sunrise the light is clean, clear and virtually shadowless as seen in the below picture taken in Crete, Greece.

The light at sunset in contrast is rich and warm as seen in the below photo taken in Canada Water, London. This shot is also another example of the use of sihouettes.
