Kleinemonde Day-Trip

Photosoc's day trip to Kleinemonde was gorgeous to say the least. I am almost tempted to say I found it more beautiful than Hogsback- if thats even possible...was great to see a couple of new faces joining us on the trip as well. We were able to take some amazing pictures before the sun got swallowed by cloud. Definately worth the very early morning wake up calls.

I quite liked the way that by simply making some minor colour adjustments on photoshop, you can get quite interesting differences between the photos. Although not a drastic change, when you look at the two photos together it makes quite a nice pair.

As you may have seen from my other blog, I love patterns in nature. The ripples on this sand caught my attention By photographing them so that they 'run into' the photo, it draws your attention towards the focus of the picture because your eye naturally follows the line created. You can also create this effect with roads or rivers. It makes for a deeper photo.

I just loved the almost perfect symmetry of this plant. The 'macro' function (usually a little picture of a flower) on your camera will become your best friend if you learn how to use it well. This shot was done by playing with the aperture (depth of field) but the same could have been achieved with macro.

Sadly, a storm started to blow in, forcing us to leave. But all-in-all, it was a fantastic trip.
